Dear Agoura Charger,
I still carry guilt about the time I cheated in the Easter Egg Hunt. I snuck out and saw where all the eggs were hidden before the official starting time. I even stole an egg from a little kid’s basket. Will the Easter Bunny ever forgive me?
–The Egg Burglar
Dear Egg Burglar,
Who hasn’t been tempted to cheat in the annual egg hunt, if given a chance? Competition can bring out the worst in a person, even on an Easter Sunday. The thrill of victory and the prizes for those who collect the most eggs loom large and can blind one from seeing the true nature of the day. For the purpose of an Easter Egg Hunt is not to find the most eggs, but to share in a celebration of family, friends, and spring. If your guilt is becoming unmanageable, you could try to appease the Easter Bunny by leaving a carrot out on Easter Eve or sacrificing your own chocolate bunny to a child in need. But please know the Big Bunny forgives your sins. Eat a jellybean and enjoy the holiday.
